What I've been up to lately...

I’ve been really busy with various projects over the last month, and this has meant I haven’t had as much time for blog cooking as I normally do. But while I’ve been occupied elsewhere, my veg patch has been working away quietly behind the scenes. I’ve been lucky enough to have at least three decent meals made using spoils from the garden: potatoes, carrots, radishes and lettuce. I think what surprised me most was that news of my veg growing exploits clearly hadn’t reach the local slug/snail community, and they were pretty much left untouched. Unbelievable.

I’ve also had a recent jolly to a local farm when some family came to visit. Spring Barn Farm is just outside Lewes, in East Sussex and boasts various animals to see and a whole heap of activities to keep kids entertained. To be fair, we probably picked one of the worst days weather-wise to visit, but like hardy English folk we braved the driving rain and wind to visit each and every one of the animals. They've also good a decent farm shop, full of local goodies. If you’re looking for a family day out then I do recommend it.

I've got a lovely summery pudding recipe coming up next on the blog, so stay tuned...
